Description

A shrine located near the church of St. John the Baptist, at the corner of the two main streets in the village (Warszawska and Partyzantów). It was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of priesthood of priest canon Kazimierz Wysocki, the local parish priest and a participant of the November uprising, chaplain of the 5th Infantry Regiment of the Polish Army, decorated with the Virtuti Militari cross, died in 1872. The shrine is in the form of a statue of Virgin Mary with Infant Jesus, placed on a tall pedestal made from stones. The Mother of God is presented in the form of an apocalyptic woman with a star halo, white dress, blue cloak and planet Earth under her feet. Christ being held in her hands is holding a cross. Below the statue there is a commemorative plaque and the whole composition is surrounded by a wooden-metal fence.
