The classicistic parish church of St. Roch in Lipków was funded in 1792 by a merchant of Armenian origins – Jakub Paschalis Jakubowicz, who purchased property in Lipków two years before that (the new owner established the famous manufactory of kontush belts here, for which he was nobilitated in 1791). It is a one-aisle church, constructed on rectangular projection, on the façade, over the entrance, there is funding plaque with the following inscription: “God, the Giver of All / Bless Farming and Handiwork / and King Stanisław August / who encourages them / this church built on foundations / by the landlord of Zielonki / Paschalis Jakubowicz / in 1792”. In the 19th century Lipków frequently changed its owners which was reflected in the church’s condition – from 1830 the church stood deserted and the parish of St. Roch in Lipków was dissolved. Over a hundred years later, between 1950 and 1952, Warsaw dean and parish priest of the parish of the Holy Virgin Mary in Nowe Miasto – Stefan Kowalczyk made it possible to renovate the church and re-establish the parish of St. Roch. The function of the parish priest was then performed by Wacław Kurowski who established a museum of Lipków’s history and Henryk Sienkiewicz in the parish. Since then, subsequent priests have made efforts to renovate the structure entered in the register of monuments in 1962.
