Pałac Wodzińskich

Zaborów Słoneczna 199

Description

A classicistic palace constructed in the first half of the 19th century after the purchase of the property by the Wodziński family in 1797. In later years the appearance of the building was changed several times, after the Second World War a state farm was located here. Since 1991 the palace remains in the hands of private owners who renovated the residence thoroughly and adapted it to perform the function of a party-banquet and conference centre. During the Second World War on the 24th of September 1944 the Germans and the soldiers of the Ukrainian Legion surrounded Zaborówek with an intention to pacify the village for supporting the guerrillas from the “Kampinos” group of the Home Army. Thanks to the intercession of the fortune’s heir Józef Wodziński it was possible to stop the operation (still, over 20 houses were burnt and some of the men were deported to the Third Reich).
