A plaque dedicated to the memory of victims murdered by German soldiers from the SS unit “Adolf Hitler” between 13th and 19th September 1939. After taking over Błonie, in the local matches factory, a field resource storage was established and was a place of forced labor for Polish prisoners and captured Jews. It is estimated that the occupants’ firing squads executed approximately 500 people (some statistical data indicates that it could have been over 800 people), mostly including residents of Jewish faith as well as soldiers and civilians. Some of the murdered were burned and the rest of the remains (approx.. 360 bodies) were moved to the parish cemetery. The plaque in the vicinity of the place of execution was unveiled in 1979.
